Hey Y'all!

The Children's Room supports families with young children by providing a space to build an informal network of peers, access local resources, and the ability to visit a free, fun and safe place to socialize!

Children, parents, grandparents and caregivers come to "the room" to play, meet people, share stories, familiarize themselves with a school setting, better understand childhood development, and get to know the Central Vermont community!
The Children’s Room will continue working for families with young children in virtually and in small groups outdoors, as a hub of information and social and emotional support, until the pandemic lifts.

Weekly Program

We regularly offer a series of free opportunities for families to meet up and socialize. Drop into any sessions to share and play with other children and caregivers.

Community Events

Throughout the year we host a variety of events geared toward families with young children. From   Big Toy Night   and    Dabble Days   to  The Barn Dance, we're sure to have something on the calendar your family will enjoy.

Free Playspace

Our play space is not currently open due to covid concerns, but we are hopeful that "The Room" in Brookside Primary School will be open at some point this school year. When The Children's Room  space is open, we welcome  visitors ages 0-6 and their caregivers. Build community while exploring our toys, books, climbing structures, infant zone, crafts, instruments and more for FREE!

Family Resources

The Children's Room works with Vermont organizations in support of young families and connects room users with resources available to them. Have a childcare issue? Need some food assistance or behavioral therapy? We can help make those connections!
