Lantern Workshops for Children & Families

The Children’s Room and Makersphere are pleased to offer FREE lantern workshops in conjunction with The River of Light parade held in December in Waterbury each year. Children will work with their adults and facilitators to make their very own lantern for the River of Light parade! With financial support from Revitalizing Waterbury, these workshops are free of charge! Workshop dates & location are below. Email [email protected] to register.​

Drop-in Thursday, November 14th, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Brookside Primary School preschool rooms. ​

Caregiver & Baby Circle

Sponsored by Good Beginnings and hosted by The Children’s Room, we are pleased to offer a weekly gathering for babies (0-18 months) and their caregivers! Relax and connect with other parents & caregivers while your baby plays and explores in a calm, supportive setting. These meetups were created to provide a space where babies 0-18 months can play peacefully and at their own pace, with less stimulation compared to playgroups designed for toddlers and preschoolers. All babies and their caregivers (parents, nannies, grandparents, etc.) are welcome to join. Siblings can come along also! Location is at The Children’s Room in Brookside Primary School at 47 Stowe Street in Waterbury. No sessions when school is closed. 

Mondays at 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, drop-in
Starting  October 7th, no session on October 14th

Nature Explorations

Get outside for some fresh air and fun- year round, rain or shine! Every week we go to a different trailhead or natural area to explore and connect- with the natural world and each other. We go out in nearly any weather, unless temps get very cold or heavy rain. Activities are hands-on and facilitated by an instructor. Ages 0-6 and carriers are helpful for little ones!   Register to get location and activity specifics for each week.  Enrollment is always open:).

Music & Movement 

Ready for some singing, moving & playing? Come join The Children's Room for our drop in Music & Movement class,  at The Children's Room space in Brookside Primary School. We begin by singing songs and moving together and allow time at the end to play with instruments, as well as time for adults and kids to socialize too. Ages 0-6.  Cancellations are posted by 8:00 am on the online calendar.

Weekend Meet Ups

 
 Weekend Meet Ups: ​  Want to get some kid energy out and meet up with other families on the weekend? Monthly on weekends, we go to playgrounds around Central Vermont, go sledding or ice skating in  community rinks,  have an open gym session at Brookside Primary School or meet up at a local swimming hole. Come join The Children’s Room for  energy filled fun!    Snacks provided too:)

​Saturday,  November 16th, 3:00 to 5:00 pm: Open Gym Session   
Looking to get some kid energy out? Come to Brookside Primary School  to run around the gym and play. We’ll have balls, mats and all sorts of fun! Snacks too. Free. Ages 0 to 6.
